Halloween

Well, I am sorry to say I will be the party pooper tonight. I unfortunately have to work and will miss out on most of the fun. However, Morgan's family is doing a little birthday party for one of the nephews earlier in the evening, so I will get to go to that. Morgan and I have not had a full Halloween together yet. Last year he was working and now this year I get to work. We aren't missing out on all the fun, though. Last Saturday we were able to go over to Tim Olsen's house and hang out at his Halloween shindig for a bit. Also, Jane Fenton had her birthday last week, so we went to Cafe Sabor with a group and celebrated. We have definitely had our fair share of fun, so we are too bummed out. But one of these years we are going to dress up and have some fun on Halloween Day!!

Sunday Dinners

Sunday Dinners

Our favorite time of the week is Sunday dinner at our families houses. This last Sunday we went to Morgan's parents house, because our sister-in-law Dana was visiting with her two children from Seattle. Hopefully, her husband Myles, Morgan's brother, will be able to make it down next time. The dinner is always wonderful, but it is the visiting and the kids that makes it so much fun. This week the lawn was covered in leaves, so the kids spent the afternoon raking leaves and jumping in them. I have the cutest nephews and nieces, I'm sorry to brag I can't help it. Sunday always goes too fast, though. I wish we could just spend more time together. Morgan's family is always great about setting aside time for each other, so I shouldn't complain. Weekends like that are a nice break from the daily rush of life. Aren't families great!!

Fun on the Ranch

The Ranch

We spent last weekend down at Greg and Maleia's Ranch. It was such a blast. We tried to call them before and ask them if we could come, but they didn't get our message, so we were able to surprise them. It was pretty funny. Their house is such a fun, neat ranch house. And they have so much land surrounding them. We loved being able to talk and catch up on things. Morgan and I miss them living closer, but we are so glad they have found a place they will be happy. I know we were sure happy for the few days we were there. Riding out through the ranch was so neat. We definitely had a chance to work on our riding technique, which we really needed. Greg has always been such a great teacher with things like this (skiing, horse riding, etc..). When we finally came up to the longhorns, they were so impressive to watch. Their horns are so intimidating. Maleia and Greg were telling us that they are actually bred to be quite mild animals. One even walked right up close to us. It made me a bit nervous, but you could tell he was just curious about us. When it finally came time to leave, we were so bummed. The drive only takes about 2 1/2 hours, which makes it a lot easier to do more often. We are already planning some time to go back down. I have put the few pictures we took on the trip above this blog. Our camera batteries died, so we didn't get to take as many as we wanted, but we will be back and then we will take some more.

Conference Fall 2007

General Conference

This year we were able to go down to General Conference. We went to the Saturday afternoon session with my sister Julie. It was pouring rain and pretty cold, but it was worth it 100%. That was our first time in the conference center to actually watch conference. The building is so amazing. To see it filled completely like that was so cool. Not long after we got there and were seated, President Hinckley came in. Any of you who have been able to be in the same room with him knows what it feels like. There was a stillness the settled over the crowd, however, there was someone who shouted something out of the crowd. I hope it was an accident and not someone trying to cause a disruption. After conference was over, Morgan and I headed to my Grandma and Grandpa Peterson's house. My aunts had planned a night out while the guys went to Priesthood session. Grandpa wasn't feeling so well, so Morgan went with my Uncle Doug and his boys and while I went with the girls to eat at Roosters. We had such a great day, but we were definitely tired and ready to get home. We were going to try to eat at the Braza Grill for lunch that day, but obviously didn't have the chance. I know Morgan really wants to eat Brazilian food again, so I have to find some time to take him down there. Well, I have just a few pictures from our activities that day. I will try to get them up as well, we'll see.

Morgan's Birthday

Today was such a great day. It was Morgan's 23 Birthday and all he wanted was a motorcycle ride up to Tony's Grove. After school he came home and we ran to Jamba Juice to pick up a tasty drink then darted over to Carl's Junior for one of their yummy dollar spicy chicken sandwiches. As we set off on the motorcycle we immediately began enjoying a glorious ride up the canyon. It was like driving through an artists paint palate. What a beautiful season fall is. We had so much fun taking pictures up at Tony's Grove. Then we had an even more enjoyable ride home (somehow it felt a little warmer than when we went up). My parents invited us to a little birthday dinner with just the two of them, in honor of Morgan. We ate his favorite food: steak. It was marvelous. Then we dashed to a movie, Ratatouie. I have no idea if I spelt that right, but the movie was great all the same. We laughed so hard. And I was even more pleased that my parents had both enjoyed themselves. After wiping our tears of laughter away from the movie, we headed back to my parents house for some cake and ice cream. Well, actually it was ice cream with bits of cake in it... pretty creative, I thought. My parents gave Morgan this very good-looking pair of dress pants. He definitely is a handsome one. And that was our day. More than it being his birthday, it was just wonderful to have some time together and enjoy each other's company. I will include some pictures of our day at Tony's Grove, some are pretty goofy, but we like them.

This blog is really supposed to be for me and Morgan. However, since Morgan is usually very busy with homework and classes, I will be the one to keep this updated. Once in a while we may be graced with Morgan's comments, but for the most part you are going to have to listen to my ramblings. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!

Life Is Definitely Busy

We have officially been married over a year and still feel like the happily married newlyweds we were when we were first married.
However, we have finally realized that we can't have hours and hours of time to just spend with each other. Summer 2007 we worked hard, but we also found a bit of time to visit some fun National Parks. Since August and the start of school, our schedules are definitely hurting for some down time. Morgan started school and has been busy with his Organic Chemistry and all his other hard classes. I, on the other hand, only have one online class, so most of my time has been spent working. It doesn't make for the funnest days, but I have definitely learned so much and look forward to learning more.
Morgan is about to turn 23, on October 3rd. Time flies. This year will be a hard year to beat after what I gave him for a birthday present. He had this old camera from his mission and it has finally died, so his present this year was a new, very cool digital camera. I made sure it was a surprise and he just couldn't contain his excitement. Morgan is definitely the better picture taker between the two of us, so he deserved it!
Other than that we are happy to have each other and are looking forward to the day we go to dental school.
