Tonight we had my brother Gordon, his wife Alana, and their darling little baby boy, Alexander. We had waffles and watched Skrek the Third. What a fun night! I can't wait to spend time with them again. It's so hard growing up and having your siblings move away and get busy. It will be so fun when we can all be together again; to laugh and joke, we always have fun together.
Morgan and I have been having huge withdrawals since Greg and Maleia moved. When they lived in Newton we spent quite a bit of time with them. And now, we never get to see them, but we are continually looking for a free weekend to head down there. We were lucky enough to have some time last weekend and so we planned to stay from Friday to Sunday, and oh, what a weekend. We were able to get some great riding in and even were able to herd the cattle. Unfortunately, Morgan got sick on Saturday night and was up most of the night in the bathroom. At first we thought that he was the only one who had gotten sick, but the next day I was feeling pretty queasy, nothing serious, and then we found out that little Dani had also gotten sick.
But everyone is feeling okay and life is still going!
Anyway, back tracking a bit, Julie and Curt also came down with Julie's friend Maria and Maria's darling little girl Gabriella. Curt rode a horse for the first time and survived the experience! He did great! It was so fun to be with everyone.
Everyone should take a chance to go down and see them, it is wonderful!
The other day my boss took our little office out for lunch and as we sat there talking and eating, we began talking about Thanksgiving and what this time of year really meant. My boss proceeded to tell us a story of his sabbatical in Tonga and how in Tongan, the people of Tonga almost always include a 'thank you' in all they say. "Thank you, for coming." "Thank you, for going." And it made me think about how often I say I am thankful, or even think of being thankful. So I started thinking about all the things I am thankful for and I have yet to make it to the end of the list. I am so amazed at all I have to be thankful for and how incredibly blessed I am. It makes you appreciate life a lot more when you realize how much you actually have.
Thanksgiving is a truly wonderful time of year, but it should really be more than just a once a year event. We need to give thanks every day of the year!
These pictures were taken just before the North Logan Pumpkin Walk. Morgan's mother, Madelyn, did such a wonderful job as a witch at the walk. She did such a good job, in fact, that many people she knew really well, didn't recognize her at all.
The pumpkin walk was so neat. They had so many very neat themes this year and a whole bunch of people there to see it all. It took us forever to even get into the pumpkin walk. I didn't mind the wait, though. It was just so good to see how much everyone enjoyed it and thay so many people came to walk through.
