Morgan's Home!

I was so excited for Saturday to roll around. I couldn't believe it had been a week and two days since I had seen Morgan. That was the longest we have been apart. I know, I know, we are pathetic, but it really was hard to be away from each other that long. It was especially hard when I would come home at night, so excited to tell him something about my day and..... there was no one to tell. Needless to say, I spent many nights last week at my parents house.
And since Morgan has gotten home, we have been much more patient with each other. Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder.
I can't wait until we get his pictures from the trip. I will have to blog about his stories then, so we can show pictures at the same time. He had some amazing experiences. I can't wait to tell everyone about them, so hopefully we can get those pictures this week.

Tijuana

I don't know what I am going to do with myself next week. Morgan is leaving to Tijuana on March 7 and will be gone until March 15. I don't think we have ever been away from each other this long. He is going down with the USU dental club and is going to actually be able to do some of the dental work. The dentists they are going with, will spend the first part of the week showing them how to do stuff and the last part of the week, the students will get to help give shots, pull teeth, and I guess whatever else the dentists feel confident in letting them help with. He is so excited to be able to do some humanitarian work and he is also so excited to have an amazing addition to his dental school applications.
It took him some hard work to raise enough money to go, but he did it and was lucky enough to get about 2,000 dollars worth of crowns donated to take down with him. The crowns were a big surprise and the whole dental club is so grateful to have them. I'm sure the recipients of those crowns will be even more grateful though.
As much as I will miss him, I am so glad Morgan gets this opportunity to do something so good for other people. I am also very proud of all the hard work he puts into his education for the future of our family. He is way too amazing and I still wonder how I snatched him.

It's Almost Spring

I can't believe how long this winter has seemed. Not only have we gotten loads of snow, we have also had way too many freezing cold days. Even though I am so excited for the warm weather, I couldn't live without seasons. And I guess I really do like having enough water in the summer to shower, water the lawn, and of course to drink. With that said, I guess I can deal with winter for a little longer.
But won't it be nice to be able to go outside without having to put 10 layers on? It will be especially nice to go running in the sun so I can get a tan! Soon enough we will all be enjoying the sun.

However, what I am most excited about is to be able to actually see my husband for longer than 5 minutes in a day. School and work has kept us both so busy, we seriously barely have any time to say hi. I know everyone else feels that way too. Life, in general, is just too busy. How do we slow it down?

The day of Love!!!

Valentine's is such a fun day. I know Morgan and I have only had 2 Valentine's Days together, but I still love this time of year.

This year, Morgan was as sweat as always but he really went the extra mile with a beautiful rose, a beautiful new watch, dinner at a local Thai resturant, and a very clean house. I am just amazed at how much he already does and yet he still finds time to fit those "extras" in his schedule, just for me.

We had had reservations at a different resturant, but decided at the last minute to go to this Thai place (Kamin). Luckily the resturant had left some tables open for walk-ins, so we were still able to get in. The food was amazing. We had these chicken appetizers that were grilled with seperate dishes of some dipping sauces. One sauce was this amazing peanut sauce and the other a very sweet cucumber sauce. Then as our main dish, we shared a yellow curry dish over brown rice. I was very impressed.

The following day, Friday, our married student stake did a big Valentine's dance, with games, dinner, and prizes. This year, we definitely got our Valentine's Day activities worth. But the really important thing, is that 1 1/2 years after being married, we still feel like newlyweds (I guess we still are kind of are newlyweds in the eyes of all you veterans in the marriage world, oh well).

So another successful Valentine's Day has passed and now we have another year to look forward to the next one. :)

I love this time of year!

We had such a great Christmas. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We had some time to spend with each other and a whole bunch of time to spend with family. Morgan's brothers and their families came in from Seattle and from Montana, so it was just one big party.
We spent time with my family on the Saturday right before Christmas. It was a big Christmas party with my mom's side of the family. It was also a lot of fun.
It was really snowy, but beautiful and we really were so grateful for the wonderful Christmas season and festivities we were able to enjoy.
I hope everyones Christmas was wonderful and filled with joy and love! Now if only we can recharge our internal batteries for the New Year's Eve parties coming up!

Christmas

The Airport

Picking up Morgan's brother Micah was so much fun. There is so much excitement surrounding missionaries and I am always so excited to go to the MTC or the airport to drop-off or pick-up missionaries. We had such a big group awaiting the much anticipated arrival of our missionary and it was fun to look around at the other families waiting for their missionaries, too.
A couple nieces made a darling sign (you can see it in the pictures) and everyone was giddy with excitement.
Even though I haven't met Micah as one of his sister-in-laws, I knew him before his mission from school, it was amazing to me just how natural it is to have all family members together. It was just so normal for me to call him a brother-in-law, it's pretty neat how that happens.
Thank goodness he has a bit of a break before he starts into school and the activities of life. It's been fun to have him home!
