Mom's Birthday Cake

My mom made her own birthday cake and it was so beautiful, I had to put a picture of it here for everyone to see.

My Mom

In conjunction with the last post about my mother-in-law, I just wanted to take a minute to tell you about my wonderful mom. She too is a woman of many talents. Her current talent is working as a flight attendant. She has loved being able to travel to new cities and see new things. Really, she has always been great at everything she does. She has taught me more than I can even comprehend. I am so lucky to have her as my mom.
Mom (and Dad), you are wonderful! And Happy Birthday today! Yup, May 21st is Geri's Birthday! We celebrated this morning with flowers and a couple donuts with candles in them. We try to be original. :)

My Mother-in-law

I just wanted to take a minute to tell you about my amazing mother-in-law. This woman does it all. She is a fantastic gardener (fruit, vegetables, and flowers), she is an amazing cook, she is one of the most charitable neighbors I have ever met, her service to the church amazes me, her thoughtful actions and words always have a way of making you feel wonderful. I am so grateful she is the mother of my sweet, handsome husband and that she has raised him to be the man he is.
Thank you Madelyn for being my favorite mother-in-law. :) You really are the best mother-in-law! Sorry everyone else, you will have to settle for the second best mothers-in-law.

Get Gephardt

I had a little time on my hands today and I wanted to read the recent Gephardt scandals (I love Bill Gephardt's special reports). Also, I think someone might have tried to scam us, so I thought I would send our problem in to Get Gephardt.
The reason for this blog entry is because I have always been curious where you can find a list of product recalls. I keep hearing of all these food items, toys, and products being recalled because of various problems.
Well, my quest for the list of recalled items was solved. That Gephardt is amazing, isn't he.
Anyway, Bill Gephardt's page had a link to a list of recalls. I thought I would share the link with everyone. Maybe someone else is as interested as I am.

A Little R and R

A weekend ago, we decided that we had enough of our busy schedules, so we packed up our car and took off to spend the weekend at my parents cabin. We spent the first night up there by ourselves and then my sister Julie and her new hubby Curt, joined us for the rest of the weekend. We played games, sat on the porch swing, shopped at the outlets, and just had a great time relaxing.

We are just two crazies! But we have fun together and sure get a lot of laughs out of life.

Here are a couple views from the cabin. There was still quite a bit of snow, but it was surprisingly warm. We couldn't have asked for better weather.

I can't wait until we can go back up again. It is always so fun. I love spending days at a time at the cabin. It is nice to be able to sleep a little, watch some movies, go for a canoe ride, go for a few hikes, and eat some pizza at Summit Inn Pizza and Ice Cream.

Our new nephew

Morgan's sister Marnie just had a darling little boy. We were so excited to go to the hospital and meet him. Here are some pictures of our new nephew Miles.

The 71 Ranch

I'm sure I have already told some of you about my brother and sister-in-law who live on a Ranch in Nevada. Anyway, Maleia (my sister-in-law) just sent around some pictures of them on the ranch and I just loved them so I have to show them off.

This is Greg and Maleia's darling little girl Dani. She loves the animals and helping her mom and dad on the Ranch.

Greg has always been just a natural with a rope and horse.

Maleia is the cutest cowgirl I have ever met, not to mention one of the best!
